The Juvenile Justice Ministry mentors teens in the criminal justice system and their peers in the community. Beginning with a spiritual perspective, we seek to build into their lives a foundation for responsible family relationships, education and employment. The program cooperates with chaplains, probation and parole authorities.

Our objectives are to help young people:

  • Develop positive self-esteem by understanding themselves as unique and important creations made in God's image
  • Develop peer relationships which involve genuine caring, listening and love.
  • Understand that they are indeed loved by God, and that by putting their trust in Christ they can experience forgiveness and cleanness from their moral guilt
Working with juvenile court officials, chaplains and concerned citizens, Juvenile Justice Ministry reaches troubled teens with the life-changing message of the Gospel. Often right on the street with youth gang members JJM is there caring, helping and seeing lives changed. But it happens because concerned people with their support and gifts make possible this vital outreach.

Our goal in JJM is to assist troubled young people in their search for a more hopeful future. This message of hope is communicated unconditionally through caring adult models. There is no forced "religious" experience—only a relationship with an open, caring adult whose involvement with them makes the difference!
